Pure Storage at VMworld 2014

A lot of activity coming up this year at VMworld 2014 and Pure Storage has a large part in it. Between our booth, staffing presence, tons of sessions and 1:1 meetings there aren’t any steps we are missing. This will be my 7th VMworld and from a storage perspective I have never been more excited! A lot in store by VMware (notably vVols) and Pure has some great demo we are working on as well.

Session-wise Pure has three sessions that are directly ours and another five sessions that we are involved with on some level:

STO2999-SPO – Pure Sponsored – Customers Unplugged: Real-World Results with VMware on Flash
STO2996-SPO – Pure Sponsored – The vExpert Storage Game Show
STO3000-SPO – Pure Sponsored – Flash Storage Best Practices and Technology Preview
MGT1265 – Improving Cloud Operations Visibility with Log Management and vCenter Log Insight
SDDC2754-SPO – New Kids on the Storage Block, File and Share: Lessons in Storage and Virtualization
STO1965 – Virtual Volumes Technical Deep Dive
STO2496-SPO – vSphere Storage Best Practices: Next-Gen Storage Technologies
VAPP2132 – Virtualizing Mission Critical Applications on All-Flash Storage

Our goal for this year is to have useful and informative sessions but have as much fun as possible at the same time. One of the sessions that I am really looking forward to is the vExpert Game Show. I won’t copy and paste the synopsis here (just click on the link for that) but myself @vStewed, @virtualchappy, @cormacjhogan, @duncanyb and @punchingclouds (plus two audience members) will face off with our VMware storage and Pure expertise. Should be a blast! This will be in the US and in EMEA.

The other two sessions I am in are Flash Storage Best Practices with Vaughn and was invited by VMware to be on a panel session talking about one of my favorite semi-new VMware products Log Insight.

I highly recommend that you sign up for these sessions–you will not be disappointed.

Furthermore–please sign up on our website to meet with Pure representatives (the people will be tailored according to what you want to talk about) on site. You DO NOT need to be registered for VMworld to sign up for a meeting though (but c’mon you should!). Find the sign-up sheet here:

Stay tuned to my blog for more detailed information as VMworld approaches. Excited to see people there!
